[Slept horribly the night before training in the AM - almost pushed off training but figured I'd be even more tired by the end of the day. Every few months I have 1-2 nights where I am awake pretty much the entire night, simultaneously exhausted and wide awake with my brain just not shutting off. Not restless, not particularly anxious about anything, just simply awake. Last night was one of those, I maybe caught 1-2 hours of sleep intermittently. Ah well.]
A. Split jerk - build to 1RM = 180lb (ties my existing PR, which I first hit sometime last spring and have matched a couple times since my July surgery)
WU then 1 @ 145-155-170-180-185 (failed 3x). Just can't seem to hit 185. Today, I was not getting my head through, which has recently crept up as a technique flaw, not sure exactly what it's happening. I was also able to notice some of the unbalanced position in my shoulders on the video. Make at 180: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TaT_4qALZKU. Fails at 185: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OafM2SwCd4w, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eHu9IOQVIYk.
B. Superset: 1) 3-5 SHSPUs @ 20x1 and 2) 4-6 strict C2B @ 20x1
HSPUs were 5-5-4, C2B were 5-5-5, tempo felt good on all. Especially good to focus on not pausing too long at the bottom of the HSPUs, which is an issue I have sometimes with strict reps (not getting that change of direction quickly enough). The 1 second pause was good.
C. 30 MUs for time = 4:03
REALLY wanted sub 4 and was on track but failed the last rep and had to redo :( Still feel pretty happy with this time. I want to test again with a different rep scheme - I went out big (9-7) but then had to chip away more than I wanted to. Next time I would maybe try 5 sets of 6 with short rests.
Solid MU time!
