Benchmark Testing: Week 2 Day 1

A. Deadlift - build to 1RM with good form = 295 (10lb PR)

Warmup sets to 225 then 1 @ 245-255-275-285-295 (first improvement in my DL in almost two years!). Excited to hit 295. Tried 300 but my pull was immediately bad form so I stopped. Video of 285 and 295: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Av-clfx5_a8https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LrAuKO6MGlU.

B. Superset: 1) Seated good mornings (10 @ 75lb) and 2) cat cows (10)

Done and done, felt good after the heavy DL.

C. 5000m row time trial = 20:53 (2:05.3 pace)

Hard but good. 3000-4000 was toughest stretch (pace dropped to 2:07-2:10) but was able to get pace back down under 2:00 for last 750.

Happy with the first day of week 2. My DL hasn't budged in forever, and I'd only actually matched my previous PR of 285 a couple of times since hitting it about 2 years ago. I feel like I'm getting a bit of my mental game with longer efforts back - my head/willingness to fight felt better on today's 5k row than last week's efforts.
