A. Jerk Balance; 5 reps; rest 90s x 3 sets
Done @ 110-110-115. Forgot how difficult these were, technique definitely needs work by felt better by 3rd set.
B. BB Z Press @20x1; 6-8 reps; rest 2 minutes x 3 sets
All sets 8 @ 70lb. Challenging by last few reps for sure but solid at tempo.
C. Strict Pull ups; 3 reps every 30s till failure or a maximum of 4 minutes; rest 2 minutes x 2 sets
4 mins done both sets, easy.
D. Strict HSPU; 1 Rep every 30s till failure or a maximum of 4 minutes; rest 2 minutes x 2 sets
4 mins done both sets, less easy. Last couple reps of each set were HARD.
E. 150m Row ALL OUT; rest 2 minutes x 8 sets
All sets between 0:27.5-0:29.8. Pretty happy with the consistency, definitely hard effort.
F. 20 Minute Z1 bike/flush
More like a 4 hour Z1 hike. A bit longer/more elevation than I probably should have done but a friend wanted to summit Pfeifferhorn and was nervous about some of the ridge sections (she's got issues with height) and asked if I would join her since my climbing experience makes me a good partner for that kind of thing. There was quite a bit of elevation gain but it really wasn't that hard of a hike.
OVERALL: Solid day. I can definitely see how the jerk balances will help my strength and technique, really getting under the bar quickly on that 3rd set felt good. Body feels good.
Great feedback today and solid training. Definitely make sure you rest after that hike - sounds like a doozy. I haven't done that specific one.
ReplyDeleteTotal lazy rest day today, nothing more than some walking to do errands :) Legs feel surprisingly good though, so excited for the week to come.
