A. Strict Press + Push Press; 2 + 3; rest 2:30 x 4 sets
Did @ 95-100-100-100. I'd never hit 100 for a double strict press before this, but 95 felt so solid I decided to try it and was pleasantly surprised to hit it for the final 3 sets! Definitely tough but good reps, push press after was easy.
B1. KB/DB push Press right arm w/44lb KB; amrap 15s; rest 20s
B2. Strict Pull Ups *Chest to bar if possible - chin over bar if not*; amrap 15s; rest 20s
B3. KB/DB Push press left arm w/44lb KB; amrap in 15s; rest 90s x 4 sets
Results by set: 1) 12-7-12, 2) 13-7-13, 3) 13-7-12, 4) 14-7-13
Happy with this. Push presses felt really good. Hadn't done C2B in a while so happy with 7 each set, able to stay consistent even though they did get hard by the 4th set. No shoulder issues.
C. 10 Minute EMOM; 2 strict HSPU *I know you said you could manage strict ones at the climbing gym ;)*
Yep, able to do these. They were very difficult, and depth was just a touch shallow on the last 2 minutes. Really happy to be working these again - I need to get better at them!!
D. Incline Powell Raise; 8 reps @20x1; rest 30s btw arms x 4 sets
Done w/ 12lb. Felt strong but didn't try to push the weight, wanted to make sure they were solid at the tempo and didn't want to push it too much.
E. External rotation - LIGHT - 8 reps each arm @20x1; rest 30s btw arms x 4 sets - want to rehab your shoulder still but don't push it on this exercise PARTICULARLY
Done w/ 7.5lbs, kept the weight light and focused on good control.
OVERALL: Really happy with the strict press! To hit 100 for 3x2 is awesome for me and I definitely felt like I could tell I am stronger. HSPUs were harder than I wanted but maybe just a little fatigue after the presses. Shoulder felt good throughout.
That is awesome! PR for a double and multiple sets! Definitely stronger!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure all the Upper body work before the EMOM played a role, and for the most part it was designed to do so. Finished with HSPU vs starting is going to make them harder but that was part of our intent - still a great job on those as well!
